CockroachDB is a scalable distributed SQL database that depends on precise timekeeping. During a vMotion a Virtual Machine system clock can be temporarily out of sync resulting in degraded performance or reduced availability. This problem is solved using an updated design that leverages the VMware Precision Clock device to provide a reliable global time source.
