The Broadcom site ID of my company was renewed due to the consolidation of several older site IDs. What does this mean in the VMware context? All download tokens I created in april are now invalid, and neither my vCenter nor Lifecycle Manager in my home lab can download update files from Broadcom anymore.

Although the message suggests it is a network error, it is actually not a networking issue but rather a problem accessing the repositories.
After I renewed my download token in the Broadcom portal and entered it in the VAMI as described here, I was able to access the online updates through the VAMI again.
So keep in mind: if you receive new site IDs, the download tokens must also be renewed.
